History

In the first half of the 1800s Salvatore Caparra was already not only a grape producer, but also a winemaker and oil producer. With the mules, his workers transported the wine to the taverns often enduring the attacks of the brigands who at the time infested the countryside.

The company inherited from his children, was carried out above all by his son Nicodemus, who, even though he died very young, distinguished himself for his great humanity, his sense of business and was a highly esteemed man from all the population of the small center who worked for him and thanks to him he managed to support his family.

The tradition of winemakers was followed by their children and mainly by Salvatore Caparra (pictured), called Tuccio by friends, born in 1903 thanks to which the first mechanized cellar was born. considered, from the beginning, a master of winemaking.

Salvatore deserves credit for having opened the first bottle shop in the city of Crotone which in the 50s was frequented by the bourgeoisie of the time.
